This post was 'inspired' by the several religious constraints attached to dressing. Well, I don't know about men but women suffer the greater part of it. Fine, you must be properly dressed to signify your religion but I must say some religions are going over the edge (permit me to say that). For example as a christian lady, there are various clothes you should not wear. I won't mention the churches which support this system but you all know them (I guess). Don't wear trousers, no jewellery, no makeup, no piercings, no this, no that. I have come to realise one thing in life, all thanks to my school. Your relationship with God is a personal thing. It does not matter if you wear the longest skirts or the biggest ear rings, so far your heart is in correlation with God' commandments and you have a cordial relationship with Him, these do not matter. How to make lasting impressions has become an issue for most people, especially at the first meeting(s). A lasting impression comes not by the virtue of what you do or what you're wearing. It comes from your poise, inward appearance, and of course, outward appearance. So everything you do must be channeled in this path.   The first thing you should note is that your dress speaks a lot about you even if you don't represent it inwardly. I mean, someone who dresses shabbily to an interview will not be considered a good prospect for the job. Even if the job has nothing to do with your outward appearance (Engineers in the house...).So, making a lasting impression comes first from your outward appearance. It's a 'Ladies Week'...yeah! Gele is an essential part of dressing especially among the Yoruba women. Your dressing is seen as 'incomplete' without the gele. There are various types and various styles. Some types are Aso Oke, Aso Ofi, Damask etc. The styles could be Abebe, 2 in 1, The Bow etc. So, here are the 'normal' styles of gele you used to know or better referred to as the everyday gele styles And these are the new styles of gele...they would wow you!                                  I don't know what style this is but I'd like to call it The Castle cuz it looks like one. During one of my classes today, the lecturer raised the topic of Taboos in the Traditional African Society. At that point, I felt really stupid. Why? Those taboos where just there to teach us the good life. They are totally not true.  For example, I'm from the Yoruba tribe and we have a thousand and one taboos. Don't sit at the entrance when eating. Why? You won't be satisfied. Really? Don't put your hand in the rain. Why? The thunder might strike it, cutting it off. Are these people joking?   But then I must say it helped me a lot in my childhood years. My Mum did not have to tell me certain things before I knew it was wrong. The Yoruba Culture did. Don't whistle at 1pm, you might attract snakes. But on a much more serious note, snakes? Really? Who whistles when the sun is at it's hottest and people are trying to nap? Entrepreneurship simply means having your own job; practically being you own boss. And not to forget, you might or might not have apprentices but most entrepreneurs have apprentices. Entrepreneurs could be hair stylists, fashion designers, cobblers and all and all. Employment is...(OK, how do I explain this without confusing you guys?) working for someone and getting paid. You get salaries or wages for the work you have done. It could be monthly or weekly or even daily. The difference between these two terms is very simple. Entrepreneurs own the business and do not pay their apprentices because they are supposedly 'learning'. An employed individual is being paid because you're actually working, not learning.h So the crux of the matter is; which is better, Entrepreneurship or Employment? The general elections are fast approaching and I feel the need to write something about it. I am a student of International relations (yeah..FYI) and I practically study politics and all it entails.  This is my second year of studying that course and to be really honest, I have no idea of Nigerian politics. Why? It is so complicated and changes like the second hand of a wall clock.  TBH , I really think Nigerian politicians are too corrupt and greedy than they can handle.  So firstly, most people don't have voters card even though they are old enough to vote. I'm also guilty of that, I have not.  I t does not matter if you vote or not. I think the collection has closed tho but there is always a next time. Can all the men in the house listen up please? Okay...it's a new year and I believe it should be a new you(in every way obviously). Looking good is not an overnight drama(yeah!) And don't hide under religion, cleanliness is next to Godliness abeg! Okay so here are a few tips at keeping your beards....(thank me later *wink) The first thing you should know is your beard is also known as facial hair (if that is necessary anyways). But yeah....facial hair....so you do not keep or groom it like the hair on your head.  Let it grow! Don't be discouraged by the itching and irritation...it'll ease off after sometime. Wait a few months before trimming or even shaping it. The mistake most guys make is trimming their facial hair like a week after it starts growing. I know...I get that feeling 'I'm finally a man!' Yeah! We know. Keep it in. That mistake can take weeks or even months to correct so be careful. If it's not growing, just shave it off. I
